ASX Widget Instructions
Installation
Mac OS X 10.4.3 Tiger is required. The pro version requires growl to display alerts. Growl should install when you first run the widget. If not please download and install from http://growl.info/.
If you're using Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, Show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget's icon in the Widget Bar to open it.
If you're using a browser other than Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder.
Show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget's icon in the Widget Bar to open it.
Instructions
Add a symbol show the back of the widget by clicking the "i" in the bottom right. Type the symbol name in the top left field and press "Add", the symbol will appear in the list. Press "done" to show the front again.
When on the front you can click on a symbol to show the graph. Click "W","M","Y" to display last week, month or year. (note: Yahoo seems to not show the last 2 days of pricing).
To enable the pro version, put the email you registered with in the "email" field and the serial sent to you in the "serial" field (cut and paste). Press "done", go to the back again and you should see extra textfields.
Select the symbol and add the number of shares you own, price per share when you purchased them, and fees to take into account. Press done and you will see your profit displayed on each share. You can choose to show profit in percent or dollar amounts.
To set alarms to popup on your desktop select the symbol ,set the interval in minutes and set a profit/loss in percent. Press done. If an item reaches an alarm a popup will appear. (install Growl if no popups appear)
note: So you won't lose your current data, you must check <strong>"Enable Multiple widgets"</strong> on the back to enable the feature. Then simply add another widget. You only have to do this once.<br />
